STEALTH

STEALTH

Have Blue was the code name of Lockheed's first stealth aircraft. Up to this point in airplane history, airplanes had only been designed according to aerodynamic qualities. Have Blue was designed according to electrical engineering features. The airplane was designed in a way to deflect electro-magnetic waves, thus allowing it to be invisible to radar. Have Blue was the predecessor to the F-117A stealth fighter. It is named the Nighthawk as it is only used for night-time missions. It operates only in the dark. The Stealth Nighthawk was developed in 1978 and was first flown in 1981. Many remember the Stealth Nighthawk as it was frequently used in Operation Desert Storm.

Webster's dictionary defines stealth as "the act or action of proceeding furtively, secretly, or imperceptibly." Stealth actions often occur in the cover of darkness. There are two Hebrew words that describe darkness. Choshekh illustrates darkness, as does Araphel, which can be thick darkness, or clouds.

Our God is a Stealth God. He does His best work in the darkness. He is always working behind the scenes. He has power over all principalities and enemies. He is the Sovereign Ruler of all. He is the Light that arises in the darkness (Ps. 112:4), yet He is highly operational in the darkness. God dwells in the darkness. Then Solomon said, "The LORD has said that He would dwell in the thick cloud." I Kings 8:12

God uses the thick darkness to His benefit. He made darkness His canopy around Him- the dark rain clouds of the sky. 2 Sam. 22:12.

God may speak little in the darkness, but His words are always profound. These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly at the mountain from the midst of the fire, of the cloud and of the thick gloom, with a great voice, and He added no more. And He wrote them on two tablets of stone..." Deut. 5:22.

Not only did He speak from the darkness, He gave profound words, His Ten Commandments. The Commandments still guide us today. His word is eternal and it came forth from the darkness.

Why should you fear the darkness when it is God's secret place? He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him, Darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies. Ps 18:11

Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. Ps. 97:2 God promises to take care of us in the darkness. I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. Isa. 42:16

There are times in our lives when all seems dark. The darkness is not from sin, but it is God's chosen time of darkness for us. Impatience makes us go in wrong directions, impatience makes us walk by sight and not by faith. There are lessons that we must learn in the darkness, that we cannot learn any other way. This is God's chosen path for you and for me.

You have God, the Best Stealth Fighter working for you. Set your eyes on Him. Endure in peace. God's strength comes from your being weak, relying on Him. It may look like defeat, but God has great victory planned for you. If He has need of you at the present, then follow His leading obediently. Yet, if it appears that He has set you aside, live in peace with God. Imitate Yeshua Jesus. Be Holy (Lev. 11:44-45). Rest in His promises. His patience is infinite with You. Be patient with Him, with yourself and with others.

God reveals deep and hidden things, especially in the darkness. "It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:22

Who is among you that fears the LORD, That obeys the voice of His servant, That walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God. Isaiah 50:10
